Position Summary:
Inserts mail by operating an inserting machine according to specifications on the job ticket. Sorts the mail according USPS specifications
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time, Completes daily reports-and stamps or meters sheets and obtains quality control approval in order to provide accurate production figures. Uses job ticket Instructions to verify materials for each job and continues to verify correct use of material throughout the day. Loads machine for continuous operation. Monitors material counts and requests additional materials from stock to ensure continuous operation. Verify box counts of materials on a periodic basis. Completes box count tally sheets as required. Corrects any double pulls and misses and restarts machine as quickly as possible. Alerts mechanics of any malfunction or breakdown. Sorts mail by zip code Periodically (after each break) inspects trays to ensure correct sorting continues. Keep area organized, safe, and efficient. Perform job duties in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists other departments as necessary. Complete special projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designated representative.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of mail sorting requirements. Ability to interpret barcodes for quality control purposes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Works well with others.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required, and one year of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent, and to interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
