We're a small, family-owned shop on 20 acres just outside Idaho City, about 45 minutes from Boise. We've been building knives here since 1995, and we make them entirely in-house — machining, EDM, finishing, assembly, and shipping all happen under our roof. Our knives are high-end collector and everyday-carry pieces that sell out worldwide, most of them running several hundred to several thousand dollars each. That last part matters for this job. You'd be handling every knife at the stage where it stops being parts and becomes the thing a customer opens on their kitchen table. You're one of the last sets of eyes on it. The job Cleaning knife parts and finished knives Preparing parts for assembly Assembling knives and components Inspecting for cosmetic and assembly issues Packaging finished knives Picking and preparing customer orders Shipping Keeping parts, inventory, and work areas organized Helping wherever needed as knives move through the final stages What we're looking for Experience helps, but it's not required — we'll train the right person. What we can't train is the part that matters most here: caring whether a knife is right. A fingerprint, a hairline scratch, a part seated a half-degree off — a customer will find it, and they should. If you're the kind of person who notices things other people walk past, you'll do well here.

show up, work steadily, keep your area in order, and be willing to learn. Where it goes People here grow into whatever they're good at. Some go deeper on assembly, some take over shipping and inventory, some move toward inspection or order processing. There's also occasional office and order-management work for someone with the aptitude for it. Raises and advancement are based on ability, productivity, reliability, and how much responsibility you can carry. Every employee also shares in a production bonus paid each paycheck, based on knives sold — when the shop does well, everyone does. Housing We have a mobile home park on our property, and a lot of our people live there. Rent is well below anything in the valley and comes out of your paycheck. What's open changes — ask and we'll tell you exactly what's available right now. Straight talk The commute is real. Mountain road, 45 minutes to Boise, and winter is winter. If that sounds miserable, this isn't the job. If you'd rather be up in the trees than in traffic — or you'd take us up on the housing and skip the drive — it's a good trade.
