We are looking for a motivated, reliable, Baler Operator with forklift experience in a manufacturing environment on 1st shift . The hours are 10pm-6am M-F with occasionally mandatory overtime, some weekends. Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed. The pay rate is $21.06 + $1 shift differential per hour. This job requires you to complete a background check and pass a drug test. We also participate in E-Verify.
Job Title:
Baler Operator Summary The purpose of the baler operator is to shred waste from the presses as well as to weigh the bales of scrap that are produced and load them onto a trailer for shipping overseas. Summary of Responsibilities includes the following:
  • Empty Dust bags at time assigned throughout the shift.
  • Blow down inserter with air hose.
  • Make sure wire spools are replaced.
  • Double check to make sure that all wires are correctly threaded.
  • Do not over feed the hogger while operating.
  • In the event of a jam up, turn off the power to the hogger and properly lockout/tagout the machine. Before opening the access door to clear the jam be sure that the blades have coasted to a stop.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the entire baler room.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memo; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Employees must be able to use basic key boarding to enter production and/or product information into the computer system as needed.
Other Skills and Abilities:
