Job Description:
Position Summary The Laminating Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and real‑time adjustment of lamination equipment to produce multi‑layer specialty film products that meet defined quality, safety, and productivity standards. This role directly controls machine output, product quality, and in‑process adjustments through continuous monitoring, testing, and adherence to established operating procedures. The position partners closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials to ensure safe operation, efficient production runs, and consistent product performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Operation & Setup Set up and operate lamination equipment to laminate multiple plies of film per work orders and specifications. Load materials, align rolls, thread web paths, and initiate production runs. Adjust and control machine parameters including speed, temperature, pressure, and tension during operation. Monitor machine performance to maintain continuous, efficient production and minimize downtime. Process Adjustment & Quality Testing Collect in‑process samples during production runs. Perform peel testing, visual inspections, and other required quality checks at the machine. Interpret test results and proactively adjust process parameters to maintain product specifications. Ensure product meets defined quality standards before, during, and after production runs. Troubleshooting & Routine Maintenance Identify material, process, or equipment issues during operation. Perform basic troubleshooting and make process corrections to restore stable operation. Complete routine equipment maintenance, cleanings, and minor adjustments as required. Escalate mechanical or electrical issues to Maintenance when necessary. Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Comply with machine guarding requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE standards.
  • Operate safely in a high‑noise, industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with 5S expectations.
Material Handling, Scrap & Documentation Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and operating instructions. Accurately record production data, quality results, and material usage. Handle materials and transport scrap to designated areas following procedures. Support shift handoffs through clear communication and proper documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Manufacturing experience in a production environment. Ability to read work instructions, perform basic measurements, and complete documentation. Demonstrated attention to detail and quality. Ability to make process adjustments and work independently. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties. Preferred Lamination, converting, or film processing experience. Experience performing in ‑ process quality testing (e.g., peel testing). Familiarity with manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Work Environment / Physical Manufacturing environment requires routine floor presence around operating equipment. Regular exposure to noise, moving machinery, and material handling. Required use of PPE including safety glasses and safety footwear. Position requires standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Environment may not be climate controlled.
Compensation Information:
