Full Job Description Shift Hours:
4:00am - 1:30pm + OT Job Description The Line Set-Up Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting bottle filling and packaging equipment to support efficient production operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment is properly configured to meet production specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up, change over, and adjust bottle filling lines and packaging equipment according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Disassemble, reassemble make electrical and mechanical adjustment, and set-up of all Packaging and bottle filling equipment.
  • Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and functionality of filling machines, cappers, lot code labelers, and related equipment.
  • Verify correct components, materials, and tooling are in place prior to start-up.
  • Perform line clearance and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA regulations.
  • Set-Up, remove or adjust packaging machinery, such as case erector, bottle sorter, date code machinery, and cappers, to run various sizes of product and liquid fill packaging production cells.
  • Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues during set-up and production; escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth line start-ups and changeovers.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, including set-up logs, batch records, and equipment checklists.
  • Change and set up PLC parameters to optimize operating efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities as needed.
  • Share knowledge and assist in training colleagues in setting up or running equipment.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members: supervisors, colleagues, packers, etc.
  • Assist the Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting or adjusting equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently or as part of the team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and adjustment skills.
  • Ability to learn, practice and follow safe lock-out tag-out
  • Demonstrate professional, courteous and positive behaviors/attitude.
  • Knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out
  • Familiarity with filling, packaging, and labeling equipment is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of GMP, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, SOPs, and technical instructions. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in equipment setup, manufacturing, or a related technical role (chemical or FDA-regulated environment preferred).
Working Condition This position operates in a chemical manufacturing and packaging environment and may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, and chemical odors. The Line Set-Up Technician is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. The role requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, reaching, bending, stooping and handle/grip frequently. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally is required. The position will require working extended hours, weekends, or shifts based on production needs, this will also include working and early shift.
