A Mixing Machine Operator operates and maintains machines that mix materials, such as foodstuffs, chemicals, color pigments, or other ingredients in a manufacturing process.
The Pre-Weigh Specialist is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, labeling, verifying, and staging raw materials used in the manufacture of cosmetic and personal care products. This onsite, hands-on role ensures materials are prepared according to approved formulas, batch records, specifications, and production schedules while maintaining accuracy, traceability, and inventory control. All work must be performed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), PPE, OSHA, quality standards, and company safety requirements. This position works closely with Compounding, Production, Quality Control, Warehouse, and other cross-functional departments to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Weigh, measure, identify, label, and stage raw materials according to approved formulas, batch records, and production requirements. Verify raw material identity, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration/retest status before weighing. Ensure each pre-weighed material is properly labeled and traceable prior to release to Compounding or Production. Operate scales and other Pre-Weigh equipment safely and verify equipment is operational before use. Complete batch records, material tags, checklists, and other required documentation accurately and timely. Follow established procedures for material handling to prevent contamination, cross-contamination, and material mix-ups. Report material discrepancies, weighing errors, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor and Quality Control. Maintain the Pre-Weigh area, equipment, tools, and materials in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Properly handle, return, and store unused raw materials to maintain inventory accuracy and traceability. Coordinate with Compounding, Production, Quality Control, and Warehouse regarding material availability, staging, and production needs. Follow all applicable GMP, SOP, WI, PPE, sanitation, chemical-handling, and safety requirements. Assist with training, process improvements, special projects, and other duties as assigned by management. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred. 2-5 years of pre-weigh, material handling, batching preparation, or related manufacturing experience, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, or CPG manufacturing. Hands-on experience accurately weighing, measuring, labeling, and staging raw materials in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and follow formulas, batch records, SOPs, WIs, specifications, and manufacturing instructions in English Knowledge of scales, weighing equipment, raw material handling, and basic inventory control practices. Understanding of GMP, PPE, OSHA, chemical-handling, sanitation, and manufacturing safety requirements. Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify materials, lot numbers, quantities, and documentation. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving weights, measurements, and quantities. Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds and stand or walk for prolonged periods while wearing required PPE. Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as business needs require. Forklift certification/license is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Proven experience in factory or manufacturing facility environments with hands on pre-weigh exposure.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
