Mixer Job Description This role operates industrial mixing equipment to prepare food products according to precise batch specifications. You will weigh, measure, and blend ingredients, document production activity, and ensure each batch meets strict quality and safety standards in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. Responsibilities

+ Operate industrial mixer machines safely and efficiently to produce consistent batches of product.

+ Read and interpret batch sheets accurately to follow formulas, ingredient quantities, and process steps.

+ Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to specified recipes and production standards.

+ Load prepared dried mixtures and other ingredients into mixing machinery in the correct sequence.

+ Start, monitor, and stop machines as required, ensuring proper operation throughout each batch.

+ Manually pull dough or mixed product out of the machine and transfer it to the next stage of production.

+ Load dough onto conveyors or into chutes to feed downstream equipment such as baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, or fillers.

+ Perform visual and quality inspections on product and batches to verify consistency, appearance, and adherence to specifications.

+ Document product mixes on an hourly basis, including batch information, production data, and any deviations.

+ Follow Good Manufacturing Practices ( GMP ) at all times, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.

+ Work comfortably with repetitive processes while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

+ Lift and move materials and product weighing 50+ pounds consistently throughout the shift.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow and address issues promptly.

+ Adhere to all safety, quality, and food production procedures and report any equipment or product concerns. Essential Skills

+ Experience with batch mixing in a food production or similar manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency operating industrial mixer machines and related production equipment.

+ Ability to read and accurately follow batch sheets and production instructions.

+ Strong attention to detail for weighing, measuring, and batching ingredients.

+ Good Manufacturing Practices ( GMP ) experience.

+ Comfort working with repetitive processes while maintaining consistency and quality.

+ Ability to perform visual and quality inspections on product and batches.

+ Capability to lift 50+ pounds consistently and perform manual handling tasks such as pulling dough from machines and loading conveyors.

+ Experience in food production, mixing, blending, batching, or compounding.

+ Familiarity with equipment such as baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in food manufacturing environments with strict quality and safety standards.

+ Exposure to or interest in obtaining PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and HACCP certifications.

+ Ability to work effectively across different shifts, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

You will work on a set shift schedule with multiple options available: 1st shift (7:00 a.m.

  • 10:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.

m.). The environment involves working in and out of cooler areas; overall temperatures are generally normal but may feel colder during winter months. The role requires consistent lifting of 50+ pounds, manual handling of dough, and frequent repetitive motions. Overtime is possible, including potential Saturday work depending on production needs. Employees are expected to follow GMP standards and maintain a clean, safe, and food-safe work area, with appropriate attire and protective gear suitable for a food manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00
