Machine Operator Job Description Join our team as a Machine Operator where you will be responsible for efficiently operating various machines on the production line. Your role will include performing quality checks, making minor repairs, completing necessary documentation, and ensuring proper assembly and disassembly for sanitation at the end of each shift. You'll operate a shredder, shrink wrap, glue, sauce, and toppings machines, load new materials, adjust the machinery's speed and pace, safely unclog jams, and load new glue for baggers. Responsibilities Operate various machines on the production line, including shredder, shrink wrap, glue, sauce, and toppings machines. Perform quality checks and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance. Complete necessary documentation and assembly/disassembly for sanitation. Load new materials onto machines and adjust machine settings using VFDs. Safely unclog jams and load new glue for baggers. Monitor multiple lines to ensure smooth product flow. Manage combi machine at the end of the line for building cases. Essential Skills Experience in a food GMP environment. Proficiency in machine operation and adjustments. Ability to clear jams and manage baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers. Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills. Batch mixing, lockout, and tag out procedures. Work Environment Work in a dynamic production floor within the toppings department, divided into colder and warmer environments. The facility is organized with around 100 people per shift, identified by helmet color. Enjoy the clean and organized surroundings with a unique pizza aroma. Ambient temperatures range from 40°F to 45°F. Workdays are Monday to Saturday, with mandatory Saturdays if scheduled. Safety is a priority, requiring safety shoes, smocks, hair nets, beard nets, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, and non-slick shoes. Activities include packing, stacking cases, sweeping, lifting up to 50lbs, loading ingredients, and flexibility to work in other areas as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
