Job Description

Lumber Factory Production WorkerJob Summary We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Lumber Factory Production Worker to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting with the processing, handling, production, and packaging of lumber and wood products. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable performing physical labor. Key Responsibilities Operate and assist with lumber processing and production equipment. Feed raw lumber and wood materials through machinery and production lines. Inspect lumber for quality, defects, proper dimensions, and overall condition. Stack, bundle, sort, and package finished lumber and wood products. Load and unload lumber and raw materials using proper equipment and procedures. Operate forklifts, skid steers, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and adjustments of production equipment. Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and report mechanical problems to supervisors. Follow production schedules, company procedures, and quality standards. Accurately measure and sort lumber according to specifications. Work safely around saws, conveyors, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other production employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in a lumber mill, sawmill, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, or industrial environment is preferred but not required. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn how to operate production machinery. Ability to read measurements and follow basic production instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Forklift or equipment-operating experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials. Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment. Ability to work around dust, wood particles, machinery noise, and varying temperatures. Ability to safely perform repetitive tasks and handle lumber throughout the workday. Work Environment This is a hands-on production position performed in a lumber manufacturing facility. Employees should expect a fast-paced environment with exposure to machinery, wood dust, noise, and heavy materials. Proper safety equipment and procedures are required at all times. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, hardworking, mechanically minded, safety-focused, and willing to learn . Experience operating machinery, forklifts, farm equipment, or other industrial equipment is highly valuable.
