Canton Job Summary:

Paint Prep Techs are employees that cover labor of any sort outside the paint booth. They handle materials from 2lbs to 1000+lbs. You will be trained on proper lifting techniques and hoist usage to hang/rig materials. Additionally, Techs keep the area free of debris and may have to assist in other departments as well.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Operates fork lift and hoist to organize and distribute production material Fills each work cell demand for material Washes, preps, sands and rigs parts on paint line Understands and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals Performs other duties as assigned Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources Help with other duty's within the paint department

Qualifications:

Previous experience on a sit-down, counter balance truck desired. Will complete fork lift training upon hire High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills Willingness to learn safe operation of all lifting devices Ability to follow instruction on the proper preparation of material prior to and after painting Ability to work independently with little supervision

$16.00/ hour (+ $1/hr differential for 2nd shift)
