Summary:
Operate manual milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and perform tool & die work to produce precision parts.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and tool & die equipment. Read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments. Monitor quality and maintain tight tolerances. Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and basic maintenance. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience with manual milling, lathes, surface grinding, and tool & die work. Skilled in blueprint reading and use of micrometers, calipers, gauges. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Machinist Operator with tooling experience to support our light manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for operating grinding equipment to produce small, precision parts to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate grinding machines to grind small parts to required tolerances. Utilize tooling knowledge to adjust machines for optimal performance. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized. Follow all safety procedures and company production standards.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a machinist or machine operator in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on tooling experience. Proficient in grinding operations for small parts. Ability to work from technical drawings and use precision measuring tools. Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
