Assistant Machine Operator Job Description:

Assist the Lead Operator and Shift Supervisor with operating extrusion equipment Support machine setup, startup, shutdown, and product changeovers Load raw materials, including resins, additives, and colorants, into hoppers and feeders Monitor extrusion lines and report equipment or production issues Perform visual inspections and basic measurements to ensure product quality Remove, package, and label finished products according to specifications Clean and prepare tooling and equipment during changeovers Assist operators and maintenance with minor troubleshooting and machine adjustments Transport raw materials and finished products using pallet jacks or forklifts when certified Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S and safety standards

Assistant Machine Operator Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED 1+ year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Comfortable working around heat, noise, and moving machinery Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Comfortable bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders, and working at various heights Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear PeopleShare is the leading Staffing Agency in the region and has temporary to hire and permanent jobs across 8 states.
