Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for filling totes and drums with refined glycerin, Canola, and lecithin. Receiving packaging materials and supplies and loading packaged products onto shipping vehicles. Complying with all applicable company standards and government regulations.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsComply with company and food safety policiesReceive/unload packaging suppliesFill or empty glycerin, canola, and lecithin packaging tanks using computerized controls and following standard operating proceduresCreate accurate labels, print labels, and label drums, totes, and samplesPrint accurate shipping paperwork and ensure that it is sent with the correct packagesFill containers with glycerin, canola, lecithin, or other (sometimes mixing additives), using computerized controls and scalesUse a forklift to move containers and load trucks with the correct packaged material and accurate shipping paperworkConduct inventory audits of packaged products & materials; notify the packaging supervisor of low quantitiesInspect packaging equipment and report any issuesRespond to equipment issues or alarms; investigate and initiate resolutionsAccurately complete all required operational and food safety documentationRecord quantities of materials packaged per the Packaging Supervisor's instructionsPerforms basic maintenance including gasket replacement, simple leak repair or other basic maintenance tasksAdditional Responsibilities FunctionsNew products or product containers might be added to our product line for packaging at any timeEnsure work area is kept clean and free of safety hazards. This includes but is not limited to tasks such as daily cleaning, trash removal, pressure washing, minor painting, snow removal and salt spreading, etc..Complete all required training tasks as assigned in EHS or by the Packaging SupervisorAttend and participate in safety and general meetings when scheduled or requestedCompany Conformance StatementsIn the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:

Regular exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions; regular exposure to gases, vapors, dust, odors and flammable liquids; occasional exposure to areas with wet floors and high volume of noise. Heavy lifting of manufacturing materials and products is required. Position will require regular stair climbing and extended periods of walking and standing in order to access and occasionally work in remote areas of the plant, heights and confined spaces. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn in compliance with Company standards and government regulations. Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies. QualificationsBasic qualification:
High school diploma/GED.Valid Drivers's licensePreferred qualification:
Technical degree is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)Basic qualifications:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures\Ability to operate machinery and computer control systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g., OSHA (including PSM), EPA, USDA, and ISO 9000Ability to drive a forklift, climb stairs and ladders as well as work at heights; manage confined space entry, withstand extended periods of walking and standing; move manufacturing materials, products and equipment of 50 pounds or more which requires regular bending and liftingMechanical aptitude, effective communication skills, basic math and fundamental PC skills
