Job Description

Job Title:
MES Operator -
Injection Molding Job Summary:
The MES Operator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data across all injection molding machines. This role ensures precise scrap reporting, real-time downtime tracking, and prompt investigation of MES-related issues to support production efficiency, quality, and reporting accuracy. The MES Operator works closely with production, quality, maintenance, and IT teams and is required to safely operate forklifts as part of daily responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
MES Data Management:
Maintain accurate and timely scrap input for all injection molding machines. Ensure all machine and process downtimes are entered correctly and in real time. Monitor MES dashboards and alerts to identify data gaps or inconsistencies. Perform routine audits of MES data to ensure accuracy and compliance with production standards.
System Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Investigate MES system issues including data errors, missing transactions, and machine connectivity problems. Troubleshoot basic MES issues and escalate complex problems to IT or maintenance. Communicate with supervisors, technicians, and maintenance to verify downtime causes and scrap reasons.
Production Floor Oversight:
Oversee MES activity for all injection molding machines to ensure accurate production reporting. Support production teams by correcting MES entries and providing guidance on proper system usage Identify recurring MES or data-related issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
Material Handling:
Operate forklifts safely to move pallets as required. Ensure scrap is properly handled and documented per plant procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Forklift certification or willing to become certified required. Experience in an injection molding or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with MES or production tracking systems preferred. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate clearly with production, maintenance, and technical teams.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed. Exposure to typical injection molding manufacturing conditions (noise, heat, moving equipment).
