Overview The primary function of the Batch Maker is to safely and accurately manufacture defect-free product through the weighing, staging, batching, mixing, and documentation of raw materials in accordance with batch tickets, formulas, quality requirements, and standard operating procedures. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a high degree of ERP (SAP) transaction accuracy, strong inventory control practices, and strict adherence to approved manufacturing instructions. The Batch Maker is responsible for maintaining complete material traceability, accurate batch records, and a clean and orderly work environment. This role is based in our Schererville, IN facility. Afternoon position - typically 3pm-11pm Monday -

Friday Specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained, safety and environmental procedures are followed, and identify and report unsafe conditions. Correct unsafe conditions if possible.
• Maintain competency in batching, weighing, measuring, staging, mixing, and transferring raw materials in accordance with approved batch tickets, formulations, and work instructions.

Manufacture product to specification by accurately following batch tickets, formulations, work instructions, and quality requirements. Immediately identify, communicate, and document any material, quantity, process, or quality discrepancies.

• Follow departmental work instructions and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficient output.
• Follow the production schedule and execute all SAP/ERP transactions accurately and timely, including raw material consumption, inventory movements, batch completions, corrections, and material traceability requirements. Maintain a high level of transaction accuracy and ensure physical inventory and system inventory remain aligned.
• Verify raw materials, lot numbers, quantities, and specifications prior to use in production.
• Accurately weigh and measure raw materials using approved methods and calibrated equipment.

Skills Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to accurately perform calculations, conversions, and measurements. Good communication skills Ability to follow written batch tickets, formulations, work instructions, and standard operating procedures without deviation. Computer, including ERP system (SAP preferred) proficiency Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste. Education High school diploma, or equivalent Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, batching, compounding, mixing, coating, or materials handling environment preferred. Experience following formulas, batch sheets, manufacturing recipes, or detailed work instructions preferred. Experience using SAP or other ERP systems for inventory management, material transactions, and production reporting preferred.
