The Plastic Extrusion Process Specialist (PEPS) is responsible for the full management and performance of the tooling development process. The PEPS will help develop and improve methods for efficient performance of new tooling and extrusion equipment. Also, in coordination with the Production Manager, be responsible for assisting in improving the process/tooling of under-performing or high scrap/set up jobs and underperforming tools. Responsibilities and Duties- Oversee the development and care of new and existing tooling and equipment.
- Unite the tooling department with manufacturing to achieve the expectations of tooling and equipment that successfully supports production.
- Assist in the processing and improvement of difficult or high scrap production tools.
- Along with the Production Manager, develop methodology to improve BD Custom Manufacturing systems.
- Participate with the "hands on" development of the tooling at the extrusion machine.
- Along with the Production Manager, develop a ranking of difficulty for production jobs.
- Meet with the tooling provider(s) to discuss and manage changes to tooling
- Assure these methods are effective and documented. Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma
- Minimum five years of experience in extrusion operations.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to utilize critical thinking and analysis skills.
- Able to use basic maintenance equipment and tools.
- Able to work effectively with the production department.
- Able to manage time well and meet customer deadlines. Auto cad experience helpful but not required Personal Characteristics
- Must communicate consistently and effectively utilizing set-up sheets, change requests, improvement plans, etc.
- Must be able to attain long term solutions as well as "quick fixes."
- Must be able to work independently and effectively while meeting set goals and time frames.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:
