Laser Operator - I

About the Role Bad Idea Supply is seeking a dependable, hardworking Laser Operator to work on-site at KanCraft Manufacturing. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. The right candidate is productive, responsible, and stays busy without being asked. Responsibilities Operate CNC laser cutting machines safely and efficiently according to established programs and procedures Utilize downtime during long cut programs productively

• operating secondary machines, assisting teammates, or completing assigned tasks Load, unload, sort, and properly put away raw metal stock and finished cut parts after each job Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout and at the end of each shift Perform basic machine monitoring, including watching for material feed issues, nozzle cleanliness, and cut quality Immediately report any equipment malfunctions, alignment issues, or damage to the supervisor•do not attempt unauthorized repairs Follow all safety protocols related to laser equipment, PPE, and material handling Communicate clearly and proactively with supervisors and teammates What We're Looking For Self-starter who stays productive and looks for ways to help when primary tasks are complete Follows directions precisely and understands which decisions require supervisor input Takes ownership of their workspace•materials are put away, parts are organized, floor is clean Comfortable operating in a physical, industrial environment for a full shift Calm and transparent under pressure•if something goes wrong, the right response is to stop and communicate, not to troubleshoot without authorization Reliable, punctual, and consistent•we need someone who shows up ready to work every day Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier loads with team assistance Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching Comfortable working around loud machinery and in varying shop temperatures Qualifications Must have reliable transportation to report to work on time every shift Must be able to read and follow written work orders, safety instructions, and job travelers Prior experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment preferred Forklift certification or willingness to obtain is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required To apply, contact Bad Idea Supply.
