Long-Term Job Summary We are seeking a Production Technician•Oxygen Transfill to join our team in Lenexa, KS. This position is responsible for the safe and accurate filling of high-pressure medical oxygen cylinders in a regulated production environment. The Production Technician will perform cylinder inspections, connect and fill cylinders, complete post-fill testing and inspections, maintain accurate production records, and ensure the work area remains clean, organized, and safe. Training on Medical Gases policies and procedures will be provided, along with a required competency test. Key Responsibilities Inspect and prepare aluminum and steel oxygen cylinders for filling. Connect cylinders to filling manifolds and safely fill high-pressure oxygen cylinders. Disconnect, test, and inspect cylinders after filling. Verify cylinders meet established filling and quality requirements. Complete all required post-fill processes. Properly store oxygen cylinders in designated warehouse areas. Maintain accurate production documentation and files. Record lot and batch numbers, cylinder maintenance and inspection information, and other documentation required for FDA compliance. Follow all written procedures, safety requirements, and production standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation. Use basic hand tools, material-handling equipment, pallet jacks, and cleanup equipment as needed. Work effectively as part of a team. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to work an 8-hour shift . Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to read and accurately complete written documentation. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Basic problem-solving skills. Ability to follow detailed written procedures and safety instructions. Ability to successfully complete required Medical Gases training and competency testing . Must be comfortable working around high-pressure medical oxygen and wearing required PPE. Preferred Experience Technical degree or relevant technical training. Manufacturing or basic warehouse experience. Experience working with chemicals, hazardous gases, or gas analysis. Experience in an FDA-regulated production environment . Prior forklift experience. Experience with medical gases or cylinder filling is a plus. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent physical activity in a production/warehouse environment, including: Standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Frequently handling and moving oxygen cylinders. Repetitively gripping and handling tools and equipment. Lifting objects weighing 15 lbs. or less above shoulder height. Moving cylinder containers weighing up to 1,200 lbs. using a pallet jack and/or tilter. Reaching approximately 20 inches from the body. Reading documents and accurately recording numbers and values. Using basic hand tools and material-handling equipment. Safety & Work Environment Work is performed in a high-pressure oxygen transfill/industrial environment. Proper PPE is required, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, exam-style gloves, and cut-resistant gloves. Industrial noise levels may range from low to high; hearing protection is provided as needed. Work may involve both climate-controlled indoor areas and outdoor seasonal conditions. Employees must follow all applicable safety, production, and regulatory requirements.
