$12 - 15 USD/hour Job Description As a General Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling automotive components according to product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow technical instructions, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble components and finished goods according to blueprints, work orders, procedures, and quality requirements. Perform assembly tasks using hand tools and pneumatic tools. Complete assembly checklists accurately and maintain production documentation. Inspect and test parts to ensure they meet quality standards. Perform tasks such as grinding, component assembly, and product testing. Monitor inventory levels at workstations and report material needs to production leads. Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to achieve daily goals. Support continuous improvement initiatives and process changes as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills. Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and work instructions. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or automotive environments. Experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, or measurement equipment. Experience working with quality inspection processes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours per day with minimal breaks. Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance. Ability to perform tasks requiring close and distance vision, including identifying small components, labels, and markings. Must wear steel-toe shoes and safety glasses at all times. Must wear hearing protection in designated areas. Ability to work onsite during scheduled shifts.
Work Environment:
Work is performed on the production floor in an automotive manufacturing environment. Temperature conditions may vary depending on weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and moderate noise levels. Requires daily collaboration and communication with production team members and management.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Overtime may be available or required based on business needs.
Pay:
