Overview Stryten Energy is hiring in Salina, Kansas! The Stryten factory in Salina is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival. Production Operators work in departments such as assembly, pasting, oxide, and formation. Production Workers must work safely, produce high-quality products in an efficient manner, and learn other positions on the line. Continuous and repetitive loading of plates into feed magazines and some hand stacking of positive and negative plates. Perform first piece set-up, weld breaks, and weld analysis. Will process 1000-2400 batteries per 10-hour shift. Work with a multiple-person team in an area containing electrical powered machinery, torches, lead melting pots, conveyors, computers, and ventilation equipment. Must learn and follow quality control specifications, maintain accurate and timely SPC charts, 002 forms, and other material control documents. Will be exposed to lead (dust, fumes, and molten form), hot glue, and other hazards. Must be able to understand and communicate in basic English to receive training, instructions and perform team responsibilities. Recognize & Record scrap during shift when required. Fill out JD Edwards reconciliation form, end of shift. Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with 5s requirements. Comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and fellow workers. Follow Lean Manufacturing Procedures. Comply with current Quality Systems requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team. Follow safety policies to include use of PPE.
