Packaged Substations is looking to hire a Packaging Technician to work from our Port of Alexandria Facility in our Woodshop Department. A Packaging Technician, as part of a team, helps to package finished products. They also work to build custom cribbing and crating for DTPS. This individual must be able to perform duties with speed and accuracy to produce a quality product and keep a steady flow of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Successfully apply simple hand tools such as wrenches, hammer, screwdriver etc. Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits. Build custom cribbing and crating for product. Packaging of finished products from Welding Department. Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and common power tools. Moves parts safely into position, manually or with hoists or cranes. Keeps the warehouse property in order, including but not limited to routine maintenance and grooming of grounds and facilities and regular and preventative maintenance on all Company equipment and machinery. Attends safety meetings as requested / instructed. Operates all machinery and equipment, including the Company's forklift, in a safe manner always. Promotes company goals. Works to displays an excellent safety record.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent required. Read and understand measuring devices such as tape measurer, rules, and combination squares required. Perform simple shop math (add/subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers) required. Experience applying simple hand tools such as wrenches, hammer, screw driver etc. required. Experience working in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment preferred.
