Job Description
Material Processing Technician Evaluation Hire $19/hr Monday - Friday 7 am - 4 pm Position Summary A leading metal service and processing company is seeking a Material Processing Technician to support warehouse and production operations. This position is responsible for pulling, cutting, identifying, and moving metal bar and pipe materials according to work orders while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safe handling practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Pull and stage raw material for production based on work orders and processing requirements Operate band saws and abrasive saws to cut metal bar and pipe materials to specification Review production queues and prioritize material processing needs Process and distribute materials to appropriate machines, departments, or shipping areas Debur cut material and prepare products for downstream operations Generate and process barcode tags for inventory tracking and order fulfillment Verify all material is properly identified with alloy, specification, heat number, and size information Maintain accurate paperwork and production records Monitor ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) operations and perform routine preventive maintenance Assist with inventory control and material organization Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and training requirements Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Basic math and measurement skills Ability to read and follow work orders and written instructions Strong organizational and time management skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Excellent communication and teamwork skills Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or metal processing experience Experience operating band saws, abrasive saws, or similar industrial equipment Experience working with metal bar, pipe, tubing, or structural materials Forklift, overhead crane, or material handling equipment experience Familiarity with barcode systems, inventory management, or ASRS systems Compensation & Benefits Overtime opportunities available Career advancement opportunities within operations and manufacturing Benefits package may include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Safety and skills training programs Work Environment Industrial warehouse and metal processing environment Frequent exposure to machinery, moving equipment, metal products, noise, heat, and humidity Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift Regular lifting of materials up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs Strong focus on workplace safety, quality, and operational efficiency
