Job Description

Westaff has an immediate opening for a Lead Machine Operator/ Product Filler for a GREAT company in the South Baton Rouge area. Monday - Friday, 8am-430pm. No weekends! Pay DOE, $18-23 an hour
Overview:
Packages assigned products manually or using machines designed to perform one or more of the packaging functions such as filling, labeling, banding, tying, wrapping, marking and packing containers, by: a. Retrieving bulk material, and the containers, closures, and/or labels prescribed by the Filling Bill of Materials ("BOM") for the product to be packaged. b. Setting up filling equipment for each run. c. Troubleshooting when needed. Being familiar and capable of adjusting different filling machines. d. Loading the hopper or the equipment to be used in the filling operation. e. Inserting or pouring the prescribed amount of product into each container. f. Closing the filed container. g. Label the filled container with the prescribed label. h. Marking the filled containers with the assigned lot number. I. Packing the filled, marked containers in bags, boxes, and/or cartons as appropriate. j. Confirming the number of units filled units by manual or mechanical counts. k. Setting aside, marking, and delivering the required number of samples. l. Reconciling the total amount of product, and the number of containers, closures, labels and packaging used, discarded as waste, and sampled. Other duties as assigned. GREAT opportunity.
