The Wax team creates and refines high-quality wax patterns for the lost-wax casting process. They use a variety of handheld tools, similar to dental instruments, to shape wax and plastic injections from molds. They will inspect the quality of pieces and remove any flaws from the patterns. The separate wax and plastic pieces are combined onto a common sprue rod to create a tree-like structure also used in the lost-wax casting process. The role of a Wax Technician - Plastic is to efficiently produce plastic patterns of the highest quality possible to be used for the lost wax casting process. To accomplish this, you will be using a variety of handheld tools. You will create the wax pattern by using a plastic injection machine and metal molds. Then, you will inspect the quality of the plastic injection and hand it off to the next step in the process.
