CNC Machine Operator - Job Description Summary A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to technical drawings and specifications. This role ensures high-quality output, efficient operation, and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, or grinders) according to work orders and blueprints. Load raw materials and tooling, ensuring machines are properly calibrated. Monitor machine operations to detect issues or malfunctions. Quality Control Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Verify product dimensions meet specifications and tolerances. Document inspection results and report deviations or defects. Programming & Adjustments Read and interpret G-code, blueprints, CAD drawings, and machining instructions. Make offset adjustments or minor edits to programs when necessary. Collaborate with programmers or engineers to improve machining processes. Maintenance & Safety Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, minor repairs). Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety guidelines. Report machine issues promptly to supervisors or maintenance teams. Production Workflow Track production output and complete required logs or documentation. Work efficiently to meet deadlines and production targets. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production challenges.
