Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role focuses on setting up and operating a specialized hardware insertion press within a metal fabrication environment. You ensure efficient and accurate production by changing dies, reading blueprints and job travelers, performing quality inspections, and consistently meeting production goals. Responsibilities Set up and operate a specialized hardware insertion press in a fabrication setting. Change out dies and adjust machine settings to meet job specifications. Troubleshoot production issues to maintain smooth and efficient operations. Perform quality inspections on parts and assemblies to ensure they meet required standards. Read and interpret blueprints and job travelers to understand production requirements and sequence of operations. Consistently meet or exceed established production goals and output targets. Work with fabrication and assembly teams to support overall production workflow. Maintain attention to detail throughout the production process to minimize defects and rework. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while operating metal forming machinery. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience operating metal forming machinery. Ability to set up and operate a specialized hardware insertion press. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Experience working with job travelers or similar production documentation. Strong attention to detail in a fabrication and assembly environment. Experience with quality inspection of fabricated parts. experience in the fabrication industry, including metal fabrication processes. Ability to troubleshoot basic production and machine operation issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a high-volume metal fabrication or assembly environment. Familiarity with production goals and performance metrics. Comfort working with various dies and hardware insertion tooling. General understanding of fabrication workflows and quality standards. Work Environment The role is based in a metal fabrication facility that focuses on hardware insertion, metal forming, and assembly operations. You work around fabrication equipment and machinery, following safety guidelines and standard industrial practices. The environment is production-oriented, with clear performance goals and collaboration across fabrication and assembly teams. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety while working with metal forming machinery and related tool Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomingdale, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
