Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators to cut, band, and drill cabinet parts for production. This role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative spirit as tasks require close coordination with co-workers. On-the-job training will be provided, offering the potential to advance to a higher operator position. The ability to troubleshoot machines to maintain efficiency and product quality is essential. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines to cut, band, and drill cabinet parts. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth production processes. Troubleshoot and maintain machines to ensure high efficiency and quality. Perform quality checks on materials to meet production standards. Read and interpret documents, drawings, and blueprints for precise operations. Essential Skills 3+ years of machine operating experience. Mechanical aptitude and experience with tool changes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings. Experience in CNC machining and troubleshooting. Ability to use calipers and micrometers for precise measurements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience setting up and making adjustments to machines is preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a wood manufacturing environment with over 500 employees across both sites. The environment is non-temperature controlled. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including shifts of 6 hours every other Saturday or Friday, with initial training on the first shift for approximately 3 weeks before transitioning to respective shifts. A 10% shift differential is offered for off-shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Effingham, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
