Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operator to join our fast-paced stone fabrication team. The role involves working in a swing shift from Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with training conducted in the earlier hours from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Responsibilities Accurately measure and cut granite to job specifications using a tape measure and shop diagrams. Operate and feed polishing and beveling machines. Cut granite to length after processing, ensuring precision and adherence to design. Manage the proper flow of tops to stay on production schedule. Select and utilize appropriate tooling for CNC-based machinery. Participate in preventative maintenance for CNC equipment. Maximize production efficiency while minimizing remakes. Assist in process development related to CNC routers. Adjust and dress CNC tooling as needed. Essential Skills Machine operation skills, including polishing and fabricating parts for countertops made of granite, quartz, and other materials. Ability to read and interpret shop diagrams and tape measurements. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, and polishers. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment. Basic math skills and the ability to measure in standard or metric units. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and openness to process improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications Requires Steel Toed-Non Slip Boots. Wet boots can be provided if needed. Work Environment The work environment is wet and dirtier due to the nature of stone cutting, with some areas having standing water. The machines use water to keep dust and debris down, ensuring a cleaner air space. The role operates on a swing shift from Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
