Machine Operator (Manual Lathe)

$20-$22/hr. About the Role We are seeking a motivated and dependable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Palmyra, NY. In this role, you will assist with setting up and operating manual engine lathes to produce high-quality products while maintaining safety and quality standards. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience who are eager to learn and grow their machining skills. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual engine lathes Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools Read and follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and customer specifications Ensure products meet quality standards Safely move materials using hoists and overhead cranes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members Follow all safety and manufacturing procedures Preferred Qualifications Experience operating manual lathes or other machining equipment Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools Background in machining, manufacturing, or industrial environments Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or vocational training program Experience using hoists and cranes Basic math and measurement skills Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail Ability to read and follow technical instructions and specifications Willingness to learn and develop new skills What We're Looking For Dependable, safety-conscious individuals Positive attitude and strong work ethic Team-oriented mindset Commitment to producing quality work Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization Benefits We offer a competitive benefits package, including: 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off (PTO) Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee referral program Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Palmyra, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
