Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role operates highly automated production equipment on deodorant and body wash manufacturing lines. You will work as part of a small team on a specific machine, supporting production, changeovers, and basic maintenance while following safety and quality procedures in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate automated machines on deodorant and liquid body wash production lines in accordance with established procedures. Work as part of a team of 4-5 people assigned to a specific machine, coordinating tasks to maintain efficient production flow. Perform machine set up and changeovers, including adjusting settings and preparing equipment for different products. Use hand and power tools to support machine operation, set up, and general production tasks. Carry out general labor and assembly duties as needed to support continuous production. Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and use troubleshooting skills to resolve basic mechanical and process problems. Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance tasks under guidance, demonstrating mechanical aptitude. Handle materials safely, including lifting boxes of labels up to approximately 20 lbs and changing shrink wrap rolls when required. Follow all safety training and protocols from day one, maintaining a clean and safe work area. Adhere to manufacturing process standards, quality requirements, and production targets in a very fast-paced environment. Support multiple production lines as needed, including deodorant and liquid (body wash) lines. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about machine status, issues, and production needs. Essential Skills Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Hands-on experience with machine operation or production equipment. Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve basic mechanical or process issues. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with machinery and tools. Ability to perform machine set up and changeovers following instructions. Comfort using hand and power tools in a production setting. Ability to perform general labor and assembly tasks reliably and safely. Capability to lift and move items up to approximately 20 lbs as part of regular duties. Willingness to work in a very fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Commitment to following safety procedures and participating in safety training. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma not required for this role; however, a diploma may be needed for future advancement opportunities. Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing setting is a plus. Experience in highly automated facilities or production lines is beneficial. Comfort working on contract assignments with potential for extension based on performance. Ability to learn quickly during an initial training period on first shift. Work Environment The role is based in a highly automated manufacturing facility that operates multiple deodorant and liquid body wash production lines. The environment is very fast paced and can feel slightly unorganized at times, requiring adaptability and focus. New hires complete safety training on their first day and train for approximately four weeks on first shift (6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) before moving into the assigned schedule. Shifts follow a 2-2-3 pattern, with day shift from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and night shift from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Work is hands-on and involves standing for extended periods, working closely with a small team on each machine, and handling light to moderate lifting, including boxes of labels and shrink wrap rolls. The facility uses modern automated machinery, and attire is typical for a production environment, with appropriate safety gear and practical work clothing required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Raeford, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
