Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw ingredients following established formulas and batch sheets
- Operate mixing, blending, and batching equipment safely and efficiently
- Verify ingredient identity, lot numbers, and quantities prior to use
- Monitor batches during production to ensure consistency, texture, flavor, and appearance
- Submit samples to Quality Control for testing
- Filter batches and ingredients as required
- Perform in-process quality checks and document results
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety guidelines at all times
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas, including proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment
- Report deviations, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly
- Assist with inventory tracking of raw materials and finished compounds
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or food science training preferred
- Must have 2+ years experience in flavor, food or beverage manufacturing, compounding, or batching preferred
- Ability to read and follow detailed formulas, SOPs, and batch records
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic math skills for measurements and conversions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds
- Ability to work in environments with temperature variations, noise, food ingredients, and some exposure to odors and chemicals
