Description:

As the Importer of Record, Lumber yard, and Architectural Millwork House we have total quality control throughout the entire supply chain from the forest anywhere in the world all the way to your job site. With centuries of experience, we are a powerful supplier of both domestic and imported, exotic hardwood lumber such as Teak, Sapele, Genuine Mahogany, Black Walnut, and Ipe. J. Gibson McIlvain is more than just materials and with our comprehensive architectural millwork facility, we offer custom millwork services from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and furniture.
Responsibilities Receiving/Put-Away:
Unload inbound shipments safely and move lumber to storage locations. Efficiently and safely stack and store the lumber in the appropriate areas.
Quality:
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
Order Picking :
Pull and prepare lumber for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type / species of lumber is loaded and delivered, whether to the Mill, Kiln, Stacker, Vision Talley, or wherever directed by the order instructions or your supervisor. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards. Keep scrap bins empty so Helpers can keep the Mill and Yard clean.
Loading:
Efficiently move lumber from staging and/or storage areas onto trucks or trailers.
Equipment:
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage lumber and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. Use hand-held equipment for inventory, picking, receiving, put-away, and load functions, as required. Maintain the Company's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Inventory:
Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation. Some heavy lifting is required.

Monday and Friday from 8:00am-7:00pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:00am-4:00pm (over time paid time and a half) Willingness to start early or stay late, periodically, as needed Some math skills and reading comprehension skills needed to process work orders Some heavy lifting is required Must be able to pass a math pre-employment assessment and drug-screening (including marijuana)
