Tawas Tools, a Star Cutter Company, is a 4th generation family owned, globally recognized, manufacturer of custom round tools and hobs. We are seeking multiple Machine Operator for our Afternoon and Night Shifts to join our production team at our East Tawas location. This individual will work within our production team operating machinery to meet quality standards and delivery schedules. "Trainees" who have a can-do attitude, prefer crafting precision instruments over repetitive machine operator type jobs, and are ready to grow a skilled career. Job Responsibilities:
Carefully read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Transfer specifications to proper machine set up and/or program application. Set up and operate various manual and CNC machines. Follow precise and detailed procedures to ensure the ability to meet tight tolerances and minimize risk of defects. Carefully monitor a work cell of cutting, turning, milling, and grinding machines with a range of technology and automation. Recommend and make necessary program adjustments directly at the machine (G&M Codes) and/or at CAD/CAM software level. Utilize precise measuring equipment such as comparators, calipers, and micrometers to gauge parts. Be part of our pursuit to always improve. Provide your ideas and expertise to identify opportunities to improve productivity, product quality, and decrease down-time. Safety is always a top priority. Help identify any hazards or ergonomic challenges, and potential corrections. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.
