We tailor recycling programs for consumer and industrial clients throughout the United States. PADNOS was founded over a century ago and continues to transform the recycling industry. Position Summary Our Machine Operator (Floater) is primarily based at our Grandville, MI location and focuses on metals operations. While Grandville will be the home base, this role will occasionally float to other PADNOS locations in the greater Grand Rapids area as needed. As a Machine Operator, you're also responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials. Mechanical experience is a plus as the machines do break down and it is helpful to do what we can without calling for maintenance.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, weekends as needed 1st Shift Responsibilities Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance Monitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occur Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition Prepare various documents and reports Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs such as motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, conveyors, and more Prepare and complete required paperwork
Qualifications:
Hilo experience required Good interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Accuracy in operation and attention to detail Six months' operating small equipment experience preferred (loader, forklift, scissor lift) Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc) PADNOS has a rich history of taking care of our team members, their families and the multiple communities we serve.
