Job Description
Liberty Plastics is seeking an experienced and motivated 3rd Shift Process Technician & Supervisor to support our injection molding operations. This role combines hands-on process technician duties with shift leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting ability, and proven capability to guide a team in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Completely and accurately sets tool for startup, including loading the machine with the approved molding process program and ensuring all plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic connections follow established set up guidelines outlined in the process book documentation. Start up machines after mold changes; troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain process controls. Monitor and document process parameters, setup sheets, deviations, and equipment issues. Inspect parts visually and physically; adjust processes to ensure quality standards are met. Analyze and diagnose molding problems such as flash, shorts, burns, and cosmetic defects. Review and follow production schedule to maximize uptime. Coordinate mold, material, color, and insert changes with mold setters and material handlers. Ensure work cells are properly set up and auxiliary equipment is connected correctly Program 3-axis robots; install or build end-of-arm tooling as needed. Maintain accurate records of changes, issues, and cycle times. Lead and supervise 3-5 operators; assign tasks and monitor shift productivity. Communicate effectively with the previous/next shift and Quality team for approvals. Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Identify opportunities to improve processes, operational practices, and production flow. Perform material handling duties including color changes when necessary. Communicate root causes and corrective actions clearly. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or technical training preferred). 2-5 years of experience as a Process Technician in injection molding would be advantageous. 1+ year of lead or supervisory experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment. Familiarity with Nissei, Toshiba, and Yushin equipment preferred. Ability to perform insert changes, robot programming, and end-of-arm tooling setup. Knowledge of resin types, drying requirements, and material characteristics . Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Excellent attendance, reliability, and professional attitude. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
