We have immediate openings for Assembly Operators on 1st shifts in Imlay City. This is an entry level temporary position expected to last through November/December. There is potential to become full time regular employment dependent on production workload. EOE Shift Hours - 7a-3p
M-F POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Hybrid Assembly Operator performs production support, light hand assembly, inspection, rework, packaging, material preparation, and rack assembly/disassembly. The position uses approved hand tools and approved battery-operated hand tools, follows work instructions and blueprint drawings, and works to established safety, quality, and production requirements. Youth program participants will perform only tasks for which they have been trained, authorized, and legally permitted to perform.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to safely use approved hand tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, safety knives, and approved battery-operated hand tools after training and authorization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and package completed parts, with the ability to detect defective parts.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow the Operator Work Instructions and Quality Alerts.
- Perform light assembly by hand and prepare boxes, containers, labels, and other packaging materials for production or shipment
- Build dunnage racks according to approved blueprint drawings using molded plastic components, nuts, bolts, screws, washers, and approved tools.
- Disassemble dunnage racks by safely reversing the approved assembly process; sort, organize, and stage reusable components as directed.
- Safely stack completed dunnage or other finished items onto skids according to work instructions and supervisor direction.
- Use approved hand tools and approved battery-operated hand tools only after receiving required training and authorization.
- Perform quality checks, maintain accurate counts, and report defects, incorrect assemblies, damaged materials, or other quality concerns.
- Assist with material movement, counting, inventory, dunnage organization, production-area organization, housekeeping, and 5S activities within assigned and permitted work areas.
