Job Description

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as Assembly Dept. Relief Operators. Assembley Dept. Relief Operators are responsible for supporting production operations by filling in where needed throughout the department. A major responsibility of this position is providing coverage for production operators while they are on breaks and lunches, helping maintain continuous production and ensuring work stations remain properly staffed. Relief Operators must be able to perform many different types of work and move between several different work stations throughout the day. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to quickly learn and perform different production processes while maintaining quality and productivity standards. Employees in this position may be required to operate different machines, load and unload components, inspect parts, pack components, assist production team members, and perform other production-related duties based on the needs of the department. Mandatory Overtime Mandatory overtime is currently required. Employees may be required to work additional hours based on production needs, including: Possible 10-hour or 12-hour shifts Possible mandatory Saturday and Sunday overtime Overtime may be required with limited notice based on production demands Employees are expected to maintain reliable attendance and be available for required overtime

AM Pay:

$14.50 to $15.00 per hour Job Description This position may require any or all of the duties listed below. Provide relief coverage for production operators during breaks and lunches Move between multiple work stations throughout the day as production needs change Perform several different types of production work on a daily basis Learn and perform multiple production processes and job functions Operate simple machines and production equipment Load and unload components from production equipment Inspect chrome plated and plastic automotive components for defects Clip or trim excess plastic or chrome plated plastic Assemble chrome pieces, lenses, clips, and adhesive backings Pack and unpack parts and components Monitor production processes and maintain production flow Record and report scrap and production numbers Complete hourly production and quality checklists Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures Assist other departments and team members as needed Lift up to 60 lbs. Stand and move continuously throughout the workday This is a highly flexible position. Relief Operators must be comfortable moving from station to station and performing different types of work throughout the shift.
