Immediate opening! Apply Now! Hiring Now! Hiring 1st shift general laborer for sawmill in LeRoy, MI. Hours are 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday with possible overtime on Friday. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outside. This is a hire in opportunity based on attendance and performance. Job Summary Join our dynamic sawmill team as a Sawmill Laborer, where you'll play a vital role in the efficient processing of wood materials. This energetic position involves operating woodworking machines, handling raw timber, and ensuring safety standards are maintained throughout all production activities. Your hands-on work will contribute directly to the creation of high-quality millwork products, supporting our commitment to precision and excellence in wood manufacturing. Responsibilities Operate saws, cutting machines, and woodworking equipment to process wood materials accurately and efficiently Handle and transport raw logs and finished lumber using material handling equipment such as forklifts and hand tools Interpret technical drawings and measurements to ensure precise cuts and machining specifications Use calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including machinery and storage spaces Assist with machine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming for automated cutting processes Skills Proficiency in operating woodworking machines, saws, power tools, and hand tools with attention to safety standards in production environments Experience with CNC programming and interpreting technical drawings for precise machining tasks Mechanical knowledge related to machine operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measuring and cutting wood materials accurately Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts for moving logs and finished products safely Knowledge of wood materials, millwork processes, and sawmill production practices Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence in manufacturing settings involving heavy machinery and wood processing Join us in creating quality wood products while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment!
