For over 40 years, Tyndell has produced photo packaging — folders, mounts, albums, and boxes — for photography studios and major photo brands nationwide. Detroit Box Company, our custom packaging division, produces folding cartons, rigid setup boxes, and casemade packaging for customers in the puzzle & game, food, consumer goods, and marketing kit industries. We're a single-site, hands-on manufacturing team looking for skilled, dependable people who take pride in producing quality work. Job Summary We're looking for an experienced operator to run our press and foil stamping operation. You'll set up and operate the equipment for each job — mounting tooling, loading foil, dialing in pressure and registration — then monitor the run to keep quality and output consistent. Experience on this specific equipment is preferred but not required; what matters most is that you're an experienced operator, mechanically inclined, and a quick learner who can pick up our process fast and take real ownership of the equipment and the finished product. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate the press and foil stamping equipment for scheduled production runs Read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and specs to determine correct tooling, materials, and press settings Perform makeready: mount tooling, load foil, and adjust pressure and registration for a clean, accurate first run Monitor the press throughout the run, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and consistency Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make minor adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment Inspect finished product for quality, alignment, and consistency; flag defects before they reach the next department Maintain accurate production counts and job documentation Follow all safety procedures and keep the work area clean and organized Mentor or assist less experienced operators as needed Qualifications Experience operating industrial press, foil stamping, or similar converting equipment required Experience specifically on press and foil stamping equipment preferred, but not required Quick learner who can pick up new equipment and processes with minimal ramp-up time Strong mechanical aptitude — comfortable making adjustments, minor repairs, and diagnosing equipment issues Physically strong; able to stand, bend, and lift press components and material for a full shift Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work Ability to read job tickets, specs, and tooling layouts accurately Strong work ethic and reliability High school diploma or equivalent Schedule Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production demand — flexibility to pick up extra hours when needed is a plus.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
