  • 27/hour, based on experience Position Overview A heavy manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Open Die Press Operator for its 2nd shift team.
This position operates large industrial press equipment used in the production of forged metal components. The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy production equipment and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment. Direct forging or open-die press experience is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Operate open-die forging presses and related production equipment. Set up and prepare equipment for production runs. Handle heated metal components throughout the forging process. Monitor press operation, material positioning, and product quality. Follow work instructions, production specifications, and established forging procedures. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and product requirements. Operate cranes, hoists, manipulators, or material-handling equipment as required. Identify equipment or product issues and communicate concerns to supervision or maintenance. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Maintain accurate production records. Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and all plant safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Previous manufacturing or heavy industrial production experience. Experience operating presses, forging equipment, heavy machinery, or similar production equipment preferred. Open-die forging experience is highly desirable Ability to work safely around hot metal and heavy equipment. Ability to follow drawings, work instructions, and production specifications. Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail. Crane, hoist, forklift, or other material-handling experience is a plus. Ability to work 2nd shift and overtime as required.
