Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Packaging Lead to oversee the packaging operations within our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality packaging of our products. Your expertise in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards will drive continuous improvement and maintain our commitment to excellence. Responsibilities Supervise daily packaging activities, ensuring all products are packaged accurately and efficiently according to specifications. Operate and monitor packaging machinery, including troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize downtime. Lead equipment maintenance and perform routine inspections to uphold safety and operational standards. Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety protocols, and food production regulations at all times. Coordinate material handling using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to facilitate smooth workflow. Train team members on proper use of hand tools, machinery, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and safety procedures. Conduct quality checks throughout the packaging process to prevent defects and ensure product integrity. Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, safety incidents, and equipment maintenance logs. Skills Proven experience operating packaging machines and industrial equipment troubleshooting skills. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs or adjustments on machinery. Strong understanding of food production standards, GMP, and safety protocols in manufacturing environments. Ability to handle material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and hand tools safely and efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement in machine operation and process flow. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments during production tasks. Warehouse experience is preferred for understanding logistics flow within manufacturing operations. Knowledge of machining processes or industrial equipment maintenance is a plus for supporting equipment troubleshooting efforts.
Qualifications Experience:
2 to 3+ years of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, with previous supervisory or lead experience highly preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, USDA).
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to work in cold, damp production environments (usually 35°F to 45°F). Must be able to stand for extended periods and routinely lift up to 50 to 75 pounds.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math and computer skills (for scales and inventory management systems), and excellent verbal communication. Pay:
$15.23 - $18.73 per hour
