Yard Worker Job Summary:

As a Yard Worker at our company, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and yard. You will be responsible for handling various materials, utilizing equipment such as forklifts, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods for ordering, shipping, and receiving processes. Your mechanical knowledge will be essential in maintaining equipment and assisting with heavy lifting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize forklifts to move materials within the yard.
• Assist in yard operations including load building and receiving.
• Handle heavy lifting tasks to load and unload materials safely.
• Maintain machinery by performing regular inspections and basic maintenance.
• Ensure accurate inventory management by completeing cycle counts.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
• Adhere to safety guidelines for materials handling and equipment operation.
• Keep the yard clean and organized to facilitate smooth operations.

Experience:

• Prior experience in a lumber yard environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in using forklifts .
• Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping/receiving operations.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is a plus.
