Company Overview:
Join our dynamic and growing company specializing in the production of steel door frames. With a workforce of 65+ dedicated shop employees, we pride ourselves on fostering a great atmosphere with excellent coworkers who are always ready to lend a hand. We are looking for a General Machine Operator to oversee general machine production and ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Position Overview:
As the General Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating specified machines as directed, taking precise part measurements, reading and interpreting production orders, and ensuring all tasks are completed ahead of schedule. Machine operators hold a crucial role within the plant, requiring close communication with the shipping, paint, and production managers to coordinate efforts and maintain a smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain equipment to produce steel parts with precision.
Take accurate measurements of produced parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
Read and interpret production orders and specifications.
Ensure production schedules are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
Coordinate with shipping, paint, and production managers to streamline production processes.
Perform quality checks and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating machining equipment, preferably in a steel manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of precision measurement tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret production orders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination with various departments.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
Must be able to stand, lift parts and operate machinery for extended periods
