Position Summary Harbor Steel is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you'll operate laser-cutting equipment to produce material according to customer specifications while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work, follows instructions carefully, and is comfortable working with steel, measuring tools, production equipment, and detailed work orders. What You'll Do Position the correct type and size of steel on the laser table according to the work order. Monitor the laser-cutting process to ensure safe and accurate production. Remove finished steel and scrap material from the cutting unit. Perform IPIR as required. Understand and follow the work-order process to meet customer quality expectations. Use the process scheduler to manage production requirements. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance checks on laser equipment. Use a hand grinder as needed to complete or finish material. Maintain a clean, organized work area by following 5S practices and company safety standards. Follow all written procedures, production requirements, and safety policies. Qualifications include:

Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to follow written instructions, work orders, and drawings. Ability to accurately use measuring tools, including: tape measures, calipers, micrometers Certification or qualification to operate a lift truck and crane. Ability to safely use a hand grinder. High school diploma, relevant training, or equivalent experience. Safety First Safety is a fundamental part of this position.
