Job Title:
Mixer Operator Job Description The Mixer Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality hummus and salsa in a refrigerated food and beverage facility. Working on 2nd shift, you operate and monitor filler machines that dispense product into plastic containers, ensure accurate weights, and maintain strict food safety and quality standards in a cold, PPE-required environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor filler machines that dispense hummus and salsa into plastic containers according to production requirements. Learn and follow the complete process for making products, including understanding equipment functions and production flow. Follow all SQF and GMP policies and procedures to maintain food safety and product quality. Report any food safety or quality concerns immediately to quality personnel or management. Keep all supplies neat, organized, and protected to support efficient and hygienic operations. Perform wash-down and cleaning of machines following the established changeover flow chart. Monitor fill levels and periodically check product weights, adjusting weights as needed to meet specifications. Ensure the correct type of cup is used for each product according to customer requirements. Maintain a sanitation bucket and cleaning materials available at all times while operating equipment. Troubleshoot minor machine issues, such as adjusting seals, adding cups, replenishing lids, and resolving basic mechanical concerns. Use scales to verify product weights and make adjustments based on adding or subtracting product. Use computer interfaces and navigation to operate equipment, enter data, and follow production instructions. Perform visual inspections of products and equipment to identify issues and maintain quality standards. Work efficiently in a cold, refrigerated environment while wearing full PPE, including lab coat, hair net, beard net as needed, and rubber gloves. Handle multiple tasks at once while tending to machines and supporting continuous production. Essential Skills Experience tending to production or industrial machines while performing various tasks simultaneously. Basic troubleshooting skills, including adjusting seals, adding cups, and replenishing lids on equipment. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of normal job duties. Comfort using a computer, including basic navigation and toggling through applications or screens. Experience using a scale and understanding weights, including adding and subtracting to achieve correct product weight. Ability to work reliably on 2nd shift (10:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.
