Description
Responsibilities Leads a team and works safely following all related policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment while accepting feedback from others and giving appropriate recognition to others.
Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
Set-up of the machine including preparing materials, prints and mounting cylinders.
Use of computer equipment to enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc.
Perform quality checks.
Report irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the team Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
Assists the machine crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine.
Checks raw materials on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented.
Using a ruler, verify dimensions on material to ensure a quality product.
The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
Troubleshoot machine issues and make recommendations on improving processes.
Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Written and oral communication skills is required.
Other job tasks and projects as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise a small team as assigned. These responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work to be completed. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2-3 years prior experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment, corrugated box experience preferred.
Experience leading a small team or group.
Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required. Physical Demands Employees are frequently required to stand and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel and/or reach product. Employees are occasionally required to walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
