And unlike other companies, we design and manufacture our molding tools in-house continuing to advance our mold-making capabilities with strategic investments in state-of-the-art machining technology, highlighted by the recent purchase of a Kitamura 3-axis machining center. The Role The Set-Up Technician is responsible for operating injection molding presses for up to 80% of the workweek while progressively learning and assisting with mold and machine set-ups during the remaining time. This role supports daily production, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. Key Responsibilities Perform daily mold and machine set-ups to meet manufacturing schedules. Operate injection molding presses to produce parts to specification. Assist with set-up of molds, machines, workstations, degutting presses, and secondary equipment. Support new mold qualifications, R D runs, and validation activities. Learn all presses and their specific set-up requirements. Assist with troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on presses, oil heaters, and auxiliary equipment. Document manufacturing processes, set-ups, and operating procedures. Support secondary operations as needed, including stretch blow molding. Collaborate with tooling on tool maintenance and improvement opportunities. Provide back-up support to secondary operations, shipping, and production coverage. Perform baking, grinding, packaging, operator break coverage, and shop housekeeping. Assist with failure analysis, returned goods evaluation, and process improvement initiatives.
