Job Description

About the Role Great Plains Processing is looking for a hands-on Packaging Technician to join our production team. In this role, you'll set up and operate packaging machinery, keep changeovers and startups running smoothly, and work closely with our shift Operators to help hit daily production goals. We are looking to fill openings on the night/overnight shifts. If you have mechanical aptitude, enjoy staying active on your feed, and take pride in accuracy and quality, we'd love to talk with you! What You'll Do Work alongside the shift Operator to meet daily production goals Inspect and validate sifter and magnet performance Confirm correct product and batch amounts, and help ensure proper digest times Palletize finished product according to pallet patterns, using only heat-treated pallets with cardboard top/bottom and proper stretch wrap Attache pallet cards with correct lot numbers and maintain accurate packaging/pallet records Monitor packaging quality, lot codes, and seal strength Move finsiehd product to the proper storage locations Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the packaging area and dryer Operate a forklift to receive, load, unload, and refill packaging materials Complete all paperwork legibly and accurately Follow all plant safety and GMP policies at all times Repeatedly lift and stack 55 lbs. or more Perform other duties as assigned What We Are Looking For Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to follow written directions Strong organizational skills and accurate record-keeping habits Comfortable handling multiple demands and shifting priorities A team player who communicates clearly and respectfully Willingness to obtain forklift license and, within one year, a special engineer boiler license Willingnees to obtain an
