Purpose/Scope:
Packaging Operators are trained to assemble and package finished goods through the use of machines to ensure that manufactured products are safely prepared and moved for transport. They are responsible for the daily operation of the machinery involved in packaging. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Production Knowledge
- Packaging Operators need to show proficiency in one or more the following processes: Packaging of Foam Tips in Retail Packages Packaging of Foam Tips in OEM Packages Peeling and labeling of packaging labels Operation of packaging equipment including Autobagger to include startup and close down of machine as necessary.
Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area. Operation of computer for printing labels, product labeling and inspection of final product. Quality Control
- perform quality checks of their equipment, process or product in accordance with the company's quality requirements Troubleshooting
- Packing Operators must be able to identify potential problems and bring these items to the attention of supervision. May also assist in the identification of root causes and implementation of solutions. Production Order Management
- Packing Operators are required to record work time and material usage on production orders.
All other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Education, Experience, and Credentials High school diploma preferred. Must be able to read, write, and understand production orders/instructions. Experience with various systems used for inventory management, shipping processes, and basic MS programs preferred. Physical Requirements Necessary to Perform this Job Effectively communicate, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization. Able to effectively use office equipment to review and create information.
- The ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ascend/descend stair ladder to collect packaging supplies.
Be able to see/identify different products, part numbers, and paperwork. Work at a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work at a computer. Frequently stand and walk to move around office/building repeatedly throughout the day. Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights and weekends as required including attending events/meetings as needed. Able to obtain reliable transportation.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 11:00 am-9:30pm (4 ten hour days)
