Job Description
Summary The primary job function of a Machine Operator is operating CNC machines to produce precision metal parts. They may produce small batches or large quantities of parts, and ensure products meet precise specifications in a fast pace environment. Essential Functions
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, and milling machines to produce parts utilizing a variety of materials
- Review blueprints or specifications for a job.
- Position workpiece on the lathe or milling machine.
- Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
- Detect problems by observation and listening for specific sounds.
- Inspect parts with precision measuring tools.
- Replace dull cutting tools.
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints, specifications and record measurements.
- Produce large quantities or parts.
- Perform other essential duties as directed by supervisor.
The qualifications may include:
- Machine operator experience
- Ability to read and use gauges, micrometer and calipers.
- Ability to read prints.
- Ability to read and follow documented instructions.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent. General Skill Requirements
