Job Description

Summary The primary job function of a Machine Operator is operating CNC machines to produce precision metal parts. They may produce small batches or large quantities of parts, and ensure products meet precise specifications in a fast pace environment. Essential Functions
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, and milling machines to produce parts utilizing a variety of materials
  • Review blueprints or specifications for a job.
  • Position workpiece on the lathe or milling machine.
  • Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
  • Detect problems by observation and listening for specific sounds.
  • Inspect parts with precision measuring tools.
  • Replace dull cutting tools.
  • Check accuracy of work against blueprints, specifications and record measurements.
  • Produce large quantities or parts.
  • Perform other essential duties as directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills.
The qualifications may include:
  • Machine operator experience
  • Ability to read and use gauges, micrometer and calipers.
  • Ability to read prints.
  • Ability to read and follow documented instructions.
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. General Skill Requirements

  • Required to sit at desk, stand, walk, use hands and arms to operate office equipment

  • Regularly required to lift, push or pull weight and/or carry objects.

$16.00
